One Life at a Time

“The greatest fear of mu life,” says Vancouver carpenter Alec Roberts, “was finding out I was going to be a dad.”

What man who’s about to become a father for the firs time hasn’t felt that fear-the many questions and even the self-doubts that come with knowing you’re soon going to be responsible for the care and protection of a defenceless baby? When Roberts got the news, all he had known to that point was rejection, isolation, and fear.

“I had no father in my life, my mom struggled with addiction, alcoholism, abuse, all the stepdads,” he says.

400 people attended Jester’s Theatre “The Grinch vs. Bobby Brown”

Jesters Theatre in Mission presented “The Grinch vs Bobby Brown” on November 29 and 30!  33 students, 12 volunteers and over 400 guests gathered in Whoville to celebrate loving others at Christmas and all year round.  $1,600 was raised through this event in support of Operation Christmas Child and Stepping Stones Teen Parent Program right here in Mission.  Students and families shared a meal on Dec 1 and packed 100 Christmas shoe boxes together to send to teen boys living in poverty overseas.  Thank you for supporting programs like Jesters Theatre!
