Growing up in a big family who always had an open house for people from all over the world, I have become fascinated by cross-cultural experiences. Born and raised in Germany, I have lived in many different places and just recently finished my final thesis on vulnerability in mission for my Master of Arts in Theology. Part of my theological training includes trips to different countries in the majority world. Learning about and from various cultures has been very influential in my life and has enriched my faith.
Just as other people have poured their time and love into my development, I want to share my love and experience with vulnerable youth. The Elevation Experience allows me to walk alongside youth from Greater Vancouver and Rwanda. I am thrilled to see youth transformed by cross-cultural experiences as they learn about God’s love for them and his heart for social justice. The Elevation Experience challenges youth from Greater Vancouver and Rwanda to take on responsibility for their lives as they seek to be ambassadors of reconciliation in the environment they live in.
One of the core messages of the Gospel is new life. My heart beats for youth to experience new life and the joy that comes with it. It is a great joy to see young people shaping their life purposefully and investing it responsibly into the lives of others. In the words of one of my favorite writers Jamie Tworkowski, “We were made to be lovers bold in broken places, pouring ourselves out again and again.” This is why I am working with Youth Unlimited, to pour myself into the lives of young people and help them to make a difference with their lives.
Thank you for your support!
Together we can transform the world our youth live in—but we can’t do it without you.
