Growing up in a Filipino household and a diverse community in Burnaby, Jen feels equipped to serve among the South Asian community in west Abbotsford. She oversees the girl’s ministry through time spent at the local schools and through one-on-one mentoring, home visits, small group girls’ nights, and day trips in the community. Connecting with the youth provides an opportunity for Jen to use her gifts of encouragement and service while also putting her intercultural and youth work studies from CBC into practice.
Her journey with Youth Unlimited began in 2018 as a volunteer. God continued to open doors for Jen to stay involved in this community as she became a summer worker in 2020, an intern in 2021, and on staff by early 2022.
Jen has had many youth leaders, pastors, and coaches influence her life in meaningful ways. These connections have taught her the significant impact of being a safe person in the life of a youth. She enjoys connecting with people and sees great ministry potential in inviting them to bond over shared interests. You can find her drinking tea lattes at local cafes, eating good food, playing sports, and spending time with God in creation.
Together we can transform the world our youth live in—but we can’t do it without you.
