Karmen Sawatzky

Karmen graduated from Columbia Bible College with a bachelor’s degree in Intercultural Studies with the expectation that she would serve God as an overseas missionary. Instead, after interning in Mexico and working as an English teacher in South Korea, Karmen and her husband, youth worker Greg, returned to call Canada home. Through this season in her life, Karmen learned that serving God is not one size fits all and can look different in various ways.

Once returning home, Karmen worked for several years in admin for a retirement community. Then, a mother to a beautiful boy and girl, Karmen left the retirement community to stay at home full time with the kids. As the fall comes around and both kids are in school, Karmen is eager to rejoin the workforce, and she is blessing Youth Unlimited with her God-given gifts and strengths as their new Financial Processor.

When she is not hanging out with her family, you can find Karmen curled up with a cup of tea and a good mystery novel or dreaming about her next creative project.
