“Everyone needs to know that someone has their back, that someone is looking out for them and will be there. Growing up without that steals life away. Giving that to a teen gives life back.”
Ken was a hurting teen that had his life changed by an encounter with a loving God and knew then that he wanted to help other hurting teens. Fast forward a few years later to when he was offered a job as a youth pastor with a combined role in Youth Unlimited. “I really didn’t know what I was getting myself into, but I am so glad that I did get into it. It’s the only place I know where we can reach the teens we do in the way we do.”
Presently, Ken works with YU Chilliwack, helping lay the foundation for ministry in the city by reaching out to churches and individuals who want to partner in this work of connecting with teens and transforming lives. To Ken, it’s inspiring to see young people’s lives impacted by getting them connected with adults who care.
You can often find Ken receiving weird looks as he enjoys his favourite drink of coffee and yerba mate, reading, lifting weights, or spending time outdoors with his three boys and beautiful wife, Lisa.
Together we can transform the world our youth live in—but we can’t do it without you.
