Makenzie saw the work God was doing through Youth Unlimited and felt called to join them in loving youth through being an intentional and consistent mentor. Maria loves Jesus. Jesus loves Maria. Jesus loves the people of Abbotsford… and so Maria followed him to work with YU in Abbotsford. Maria is part of the team that forms the missional faith community, Verge, and together they go together to: C-21 Centre, schools, mall and bus loop to hang out with young people that Jesus also loves. Mike loves youth and he loves skateboarding and his passion for both have kept him busy and happy with skateboard club ministries for the past sixteen years! For the past eight years, he has been leading YU’s North Surrey Skate Night. This club is based out of the new park at Chuck Bailey Recreation Center and works closely to outreach and build relationships with the skateboarding community and their unique subculture.   Mike’s passion is “reaching and improving the lives of inner-city teenagers in BC’s fastest-growing urban area”. Nate has always had a passion for working alongside youth. After graduating Columbia Bible College, Nate took a position as a pastor at the Bridge Church in North Vancouver. Now, his love for youth brings him to YU – and alongside his wife, Katie! He brings a wealth of knowledge about the North Shore and the youth who live in it, and a desire to be in this work for the long haul.
